NSCDC anti-trafficking and illegal practice operations

Overview

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has conducted several operations targeting human trafficking and illegal activities across different states.

In Kwara State, the NSCDC arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly trafficking a 17-year-old girl to Mali under the guise of employment in Senegal. In a separate operation in the same state, a 56-year-old man was apprehended for operating an unauthorized medical facility and performing abortions without a license.

In Zamfara State, the NSCDC arrested a 25-year-old suspect in Gusau and rescued two 13-year-old girls. Investigations indicate the children were being trafficked for the purpose of child labor. The case has been referred to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further action.
