NSG women commando training launch
Overview
The National Security Guard (NSG) Training Academy in Manesar has launched the inaugural Mahila Commando Conversion Course (MCCC). This 12-week intensive residential program is designed to train women personnel from State Police Forces and Central Armed Police Forces in specialized counter-terrorism operations.
The curriculum focuses on high-risk mission capabilities, including tactical intervention, weapons handling, marksmanship, hostage rescue, and rigorous physical conditioning. The initiative aims to develop a pool of technically proficient women commandos to strengthen India’s counter-terrorism architecture and improve interoperability between security agencies.
The first batch includes 25 women constables from the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary’s 5th Battalion. Union Minister Annpurna Devi characterized the launch as a milestone for ‘Nari Shakti’, noting its role in empowering women through leadership and opportunity.
