NSW organized crime and drug enforcement operations

Overview

New South Wales police have conducted separate operations targeting organized crime and drug supply networks.

In early August, the NSW anti-bikie squad intercepted a vehicle at the Twelve Mile Creek checkpoint, seizing a privately manufactured MAC-10 submachine gun, a silencer, ammunition, and cocaine. Two men, Michael John Seymour and Peter Raymond Withers, were arrested. Seymour pleaded guilty to possessing an unauthorized firearm and supplying a large commercial quantity of drugs, following an investigation linked to a 2024 vehicle crash.

Later in August, police arrested a 29-year-old man following a vehicle stop on the Great Western Highway at Wentworth Falls. Subsequent search warrants executed in Lawson by multiple enforcement squads led to the seizure of various items. The individual faces multiple charges, including participating in a criminal group and supplying prohibited drugs in commercial and large commercial quantities.
