Nutanix hybrid cloud and AI infrastructure expansion
Overview
Nutanix has introduced new technologies and partnerships to enhance its hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence capabilities.
The company initially launched an open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for the Nutanix Cloud Platform. This tool serves as a secure gateway, enabling AI assistants like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to interact with infrastructure via natural language while adhering to existing security policies and human oversight models.
Subsequently, Nutanix expanded its offerings by announcing the general availability of Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Hybrid on the Nutanix AHV hypervisor. This allows for on-premises session hosts managed through Microsoft’s cloud control plane. Furthermore, a strategic partnership with ChronoScale was established to integrate Nutanix’s Agentic AI software with ChronoScale’s platform, facilitating GPU-as-a-Service and support for AI workflows using Nvidia technology.
