NVIDIA leadership engagement in global AI development

Overview

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has engaged in high-level international activities focused on the expansion and regulation of artificial intelligence. In September 2026, Huang scheduled his first visit to Kazakhstan to participate in AI Month festivities in Astana, including the AI & Digital Bridge 2026 forum. This visit follows previous collaborations between Kazakhstan and NVIDIA, including the launch of two supercomputers and $10 billion in AI-related agreements signed in June 2026.

Speaking at the G20 Innovation Ministerial in North Carolina, Huang urged G20 leaders to prioritize the development of local AI infrastructure, likening computing power to essential utilities such as electricity and roads. Regarding governance, Huang advocated for regulating “actual and measurable harms” rather than theoretical risks, suggesting that companies should be held directly responsible for product safety in a manner similar to the aviation industry.

Expanding his international footprint, Huang is scheduled to visit Barcelona on October 13 to inaugurate a new AI factory at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. This project involves expanding the MareNostrum 5 supercomputer using NVIDIA’s Blackwell chips through a collaboration funded by the European Union, Spanish administrations, Portugal, and Turkey. The facility is intended to provide AI services to public administrations and small to medium-sized enterprises.

Amidst this technological expansion, reports have highlighted Huang’s intense management style, which he has described as a form of ‘torture’ designed to drive employees toward greatness. Despite this rigorous approach, NVIDIA maintains a low employee turnover rate of 2.5%, while reporting quarterly revenues of $96.2 billion, a 106% year-over-year increase driven by data center demand.
