Oaxaca BinniBus transit system expansion

Overview

Oaxaca is expanding and restructuring its metropolitan transit system through the BinniBus collective transport initiative. Legislative support for the project has grown, with the Oaxaca State Congress approving a budget of 53,216,000 pesos to ensure system viability. This funding supports a tiered fare structure, including an 8-peso general rate and a 4-peso preferential rate for students. Over a two-year period, the BinniBus network has expanded from six to 35 routes, currently serving more than 52,000 daily users with an emphasis on safety technology and electric vehicle integration.
