Ontario road-related criminal incidents

Overview

In September 2026, a 21-year veteran of the Niagara Regional Police Service, Paul-Andre Seguin, was arrested following an impaired driving incident and a vehicle collision in Niagara-on-the-Lake. After failing to comply with a police attempt to stop his pickup truck, Seguin was charged with impaired operation of a conveyance, flight from a peace officer, and dangerous operation. He was suspended with pay pending an investigation.

By late September and early October, the Ontario Provincial Police in Nipigon reported multiple road-related incidents. This included a pursuit of a stolen Chevrolet Traverse on Highway 11, which resulted in the arrest of two women on charges including possession of property obtained by crime and flight from a peace officer. Additionally, police reported a separate incident involving a grey Ford F-150 that failed to stop after officers suspected the driver was prohibited from driving.
