Opel Astra Astra Start trim launch
Overview
Opel has introduced the ‘Start’ trim level for the Astra model range, including the Sports Tourer station wagon. This new entry-level configuration is part of a broader Stellantis group strategy to increase accessibility through more competitive pricing.
In the German market, the Astra five-door hatchback and Sports Tourer versions see price reductions of approximately €1,500 to €2,000 compared to previous base trims. In Italy, the mild hybrid version starts at 32,450 euros. The electric variant in Germany sees a price drop of €1,900, starting at €36,490.
The Start trim offers several powertrain options, including a 1.2-liter three-cylinder mild hybrid petrol engine, a 1.5-liter diesel engine, and a fully electric version. The electric model features a 156 hp motor and a 58 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 454 km under the WLTP cycle. The plug-in hybrid powertrain is not available for this specific trim. Standard features include ‘Intelli-Seat’ ergonomic seating, automatic climate control, a 10-inch driver information display, a 10-inch multimedia touchscreen, and a keyless start system.
