Opel GSE Formula E team driver announcements
Overview
Opel GSE is preparing for its debut in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship during the 2026-27 season, which will feature the introduction of the all-wheel drive GEN4 car.
In early August, the team confirmed French driver Théo Pourchaire as its first regular driver. Later in the month, Opel announced that New Zealander Mitch Evans, the series' most successful driver with 16 victories, will join the team. Team principal Jörg Schrott described the pairing of Evans and Pourchaire as a ‘dream team’ intended to compete for wins immediately. The championship is scheduled to begin in Saudi Arabia on 18-19 December 2026.
