Orange County Fair circus arrow injury
Overview
On July 25, a cross‑bow act at New York's Orange County Fair resulted in an arrow striking performer Edwin Cuervo Rangel. He was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center and reported in stable condition while police opened an investigation.
By July 28, the injured performer had undergone surgery and was released from the hospital. The circus cancelled the crossbow portion of that night’s show but resumed regular performances without the risky act. Owner Alexander Murcia thanked first responders and asked the public to respect the performer’s privacy.
The incident prompted safety concerns and a brief alteration of the fair’s program, though the broader festivities continued as planned.
