Overview

Orca AI and Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) have commercially launched BerthView, an AI-powered berthing assistance solution. The system integrates Orca AI’s SeaPod digital watchkeeper with SHI’s SVISION system to provide continuous situational awareness from open-water navigation through the final stages of berthing.

Utilizing AI, computer vision, and fisheye cameras, the technology provides a 360-degree view of a vessel’s surroundings. It features visual distance guides and virtual safety boundaries to assist crews with close-quarters maneuvering near quay walls and other vessels. The solution is available for both newbuilds and retrofitting existing fleets.

Furthermore, the system connects to Orca AI’s FleetView platform, enabling shore-based teams to monitor risks, investigate incidents, and utilize real-time operational data for crew training and claims support.
