Saint Moses the Ethiopian (also referred to as Saint Moses the Black) is a central figure in these traditions. Other figures honored include Saint Anthimos, Bishop of Nicomedia; King Hezekiah of Judah, recognized for his piety; the Martyr Saint Damon, whose memory is preserved in the Sinai Codex 631; Saint Joseph the Hesychast; the martyrs Diomedes and Lawrence; and Saint Sava of Kripets, a monk who founded a monastery by Lake Kripets. The righteous Prophetess Anna is also commemorated.
