Pakistan Civil Awards 2026 issuance

The Pakistani government has initiated the process of issuing national honors for 2026. Initially, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the approval of civil awards for 78 individuals, specifically recognizing martyrs and Ghazis for their courage and sacrifice in service to the country.

Following this, President Asif Ali Zardari approved a much broader list of Pakistan Civil Awards for 2026. This expanded selection includes over 1,500 recipients, comprising 1,172 military awards for armed forces personnel and 355 national civil awards for achievements in fields such as science, medicine, arts, and journalism.

The honors include high-ranking domestic officials, such as Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, as well as international figures including Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and a Deputy Prime Minister from the Russian Federation. The awards are scheduled to be presented during a ceremony on March 23, Pakistan Day.

Recent details regarding the 355 national civil awards highlight significant contributions within the technology, science, and engineering sectors. Notable recipients include Dr. Shahid Mahmud for his work in ICT, artificial intelligence, and telecom infrastructure, and Prof. Dr. Aneela Zameer Jaffery for research in computer science and evolutionary computing. In the fields of spatial data and aerospace, Dr. Urooj Saeed was recognized for contributions to Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Additionally, Yang Baoning of the China Academy of Space Technology was awarded the Sitara-i-Quaid-i-Azam, reflecting the importance of Sino-Pak partnerships in space technology.
