At the National Youth Leadership Summit 2026 in Islamabad, Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik called for collective societal efforts to develop young people who are “skilled, responsible, and capable of leadership.” Sardar Tahir Mehmood, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), reinforced this by characterizing youth empowerment as an “economic investment rather than charity.”

Recent discussions have highlighted a critical shift toward entrepreneurship and freelancing as essential drivers for economic stability. While SMEs comprise over 90 percent of the country's total businesses, entrepreneurs face obstacles such as limited credit access, regulatory hurdles, and weak infrastructure. Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori noted the importance of the digital economy, suggesting that improved internet access and training could allow the youth population to provide services like software development and digital marketing to international clients to increase national earnings.
