Paraguayan Football Association modernization efforts
Overview
The Paraguayan Football Association (APF), led by President Robert Harrison, has initiated several measures to modernize the nation’s football structure. Initial discussions with First Division club presidents focused on restructuring the tournament system and managing national competition broadcasting rights to increase public appeal.
Following these discussions, the APF expanded its reforms to include financial and technological advancements. The association is developing a Financial Fair Play system for implementation in 2027, conducting individual reviews of club financial documentation to establish administrative criteria. Additionally, a multi-year partnership with sports technology company Hudl was established to provide clubs with access to Wyscout software, aiming to improve talent identification and performance analysis for youth categories.
