Paraná agricultural technology modernization

Overview

A delegation of 32 rural leaders and producers from Paraná, Brazil, conducted a technical mission to the United States to study advancements in agricultural robotics, artificial intelligence, and satellite monitoring. During the mission, the group visited facilities in California to observe automation technologies, such as the Prospr robot, which is designed to reduce labor dependency and chemical exposure in vineyards and orchards.

Following these studies, producers and educational institutions in Paraná have begun adopting advanced technologies to modernize local farming practices. This includes testing artificial intelligence tools for cassava management, silo operations, and satellite imagery analysis.

In conjunction with these efforts, the Paraná State Secretariat of Education launched the ‘Carbono Zero e Rastro Zero’ project. This initiative involves an investment of R$ 1.6 million to provide 11 spraying drones to state agricultural colleges, allowing approximately 4,800 students to gain practical experience in digital agriculture, precision farming, and automated input management.
