Paraná River maritime accident

Overview

A maritime accident involving an auxiliary boat from the tugboat Cavalier IV has resulted in casualties and a missing person in the Paraná River near Corrientes, Argentina.

Following a mechanical failure that left the vessel adrift, two crew members fell into the river. One sailor, Enrique Javier Fernández, was recovered by colleagues but was later confirmed deceased. A search operation is currently underway for Ricardo León Aguilera, a 30-year-old Paraguayan sailor. His life jacket was discovered under a barge, leading his family to suggest he may have been swept away by the current.
