Paraná road paving initiatives

In late July 2026, the municipality of Carambeí in Paraná began the first phase of a rural road‑paving project, laying a 4.6 km asphalt layer on São João Road with a budget of R$ 9.44 million. The mayor announced that a second, larger phase had already been approved, signalling continued state support for improving transport links for local agriculture.

A week later, Curitiba, the state capital, launched two parallel urban‑infrastructure programmes. One replaces 2.3 km of deteriorated pavement in the Pinheirinho district using recycled material, while the other prepares a multi‑year revitalisation of nearly 4 km of Avenida Visconde de Guarapuava, including underground utilities, a new bike lane and accessible sidewalks. Together, the snapshots illustrate a broader push by Paraná’s municipalities to upgrade both rural and urban road networks, emphasizing durability, sustainability and enhanced mobility.
