Pattaya disappearances
Entities: Thong · Roman Nazimova · Pong · Sarina Nazimova · Iana Nazimova
Overview
In mid‑July 2026 Thai police began investigating the disappearance of 17‑year‑old Nong Tong, who vanished after arranging to meet an unidentified foreign man at a Pattaya mall. Her family launched a social‑media appeal, and investigators found no link to a recent suitcase murder.
A few weeks later attention turned to Russian siblings Diana (22) and Roman (17) Nazimova, who left their Chonburi home on a motorcycle on 26 July and never returned. Surveillance showed a second motorcycle following them; the siblings’ bike was later found dismantled and buried in an abandoned cemetery. Police focused on two local men known as “Pong” and “Thong,” but no arrests were made at that stage.
On 29 July police announced arrest warrants for the two suspects—identified as 43‑year‑old Tana (“Pong”) and 39‑year‑old Thongchai (“Thong”). Two additional men, Suea Hoy and Phang, were detained for allegedly assisting the primary suspects and helping dig the burial pit. A raid on a house in Huay Yai subdistrict yielded no capture of the main suspects. Hundreds of officers, tourist police and volunteers continue ground searches with sniffer dogs, but the Nazimova siblings remain missing.
Both investigations highlight a surge in unexplained vanishings in the tourist city, prompting heightened police activity and growing concern among residents and expatriates.
