Pedestrian accidents in Ciudad Juárez
Overview
A series of incidents involving pedestrians and vehicles has been reported in Ciudad Juárez.
On October 2, a pedestrian died after being struck by a JuárezBus unit while attempting to cross Boulevard Zaragoza. The driver, a 46-year-old woman, was uninjured and not under the influence of alcohol. The Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
On October 12, a second incident occurred at the intersection of Bulevar Zaragoza and Violetas street, where a pedestrian was injured by a municipal police vehicle. The victim, who had recently exited a public transit bus, was struck by patrol unit 623. The individual was transported to Hospital General number 66 for medical treatment. Authorities are investigating the accident, including the use of confined lanes, to determine responsibility.
