Pegaso art installation in Librino

Overview

The MAGMA open-air contemporary art museum in the Librino district of Catania is preparing to unveil a new installation titled ‘La Porta di Pegaso’ (The Gate of Pegasus). The project features a reflective steel sculpture, ‘Pegaso – Il Cavallo alato’ (Pegasus – The Winged Horse), created by artist Antonello Bonanno Conti.

Donated to the community by the Fondazione Antonio Presti, the installation incorporates 5,000 terracotta artifacts produced through a participatory process involving local mothers and children. According to Antonio Presti, the initiative is part of a ‘politics of beauty’ designed to foster social integration and personal development. The inauguration is scheduled for October 13, 2026, in front of the Campanella Sturzo Comprehensive Institute.
