Penn State childhood cancer philanthropy recognition

Overview

Penn State University is highlighting philanthropic efforts related to childhood cancer and community service. An anonymous donor to the Penn State Athletics Stadium Revitalization Project provided a gift that enabled the installation of permanent signage at Beaver Stadium Gate B. This signage honors the 50-year partnership between Four Diamonds and Penn State THON, which has raised over $273 million since 1977 to support families at Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital.

In addition to the stadium recognition, the university issued the 2026 Impact Awards to former student-athletes for their community service. As the partnership milestone is celebrated, the theme for THON 2027, “Where Our Imagination Shines,” was revealed during the Penn State Homecoming parade to represent a future with a cure for childhood cancer.
