Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission programs

In mid‑July 2026 the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission announced a $197,446 R3 Education Grant package supporting 16 fishing and boating education projects across 13 counties and a statewide initiative. The funding will cover equipment, instructional materials and transportation for programs targeting youth and under‑represented groups, building on a previous year that reached more than 11,000 participants.

A few weeks later, in early August, the Commission held its quarterly meeting and honored several conservation officers with lifesaving, enforcement and outreach awards. Recipients were recognized for emergency rescues, high numbers of boating‑under‑the‑influence arrests and broader environmental investigations. The ceremony underscored the agency’s dual focus on public‑safety enforcement and community‑based water‑resource education.

Together, the grant awards and officer recognitions illustrate the Commission’s ongoing effort to promote safe, inclusive recreation while protecting Pennsylvania’s waterways through both educational outreach and law‑enforcement excellence.
