Overview

Various opera houses have reported high demand and successful runs for Giuseppe Verdi’s ‘La traviata’.

In Austria, the Bregenzer Festspiele announced an additional performance of the opera for its 2027 season due to overwhelming demand. Commercial Director Michael Diem noted that 60 percent of the approximately 195,000 available tickets for the 2027 season had already been booked. This follows a successful 2026 season where all 28 scheduled performances were sold out.

In Italy, the Teatro Comunale Carlo Gesualdo in Avellino hosted a sold-out performance of the opera with over 1,200 attendees. The production, organized by il Cimarosa, was part of the venue’s 40th-anniversary celebrations and marked the conclusion of Director Maria Gabriella Della Sala’s mandate.
