Pertamina oil and gas exploration and production

PT Pertamina has reported progress in both production and exploration activities within Indonesia.

In East Kalimantan, PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) successfully conducted production tests on two new wells, SEM-206 and SEM-207, in the Semberah Structure. The SEM-206 well exceeded targets by producing 5.3 mmscfd of gas and 706 bcpd of condensate, while SEM-207 produced 3.11 mmscfd of gas and 103 bcpd of condensate. These activities aim to increase reserves and mitigate production decline in mature fields using Casing While Drilling technology.

Concurrently, PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) completed a 6,000 km offshore 2D SE Java seismic survey in the Indian Ocean. The project, part of the PHE Jambi Merang Certainty Work Program, covered waters off six regencies in East Java. Despite environmental challenges such as high waves and strong currents that required a temporary pause between December 2025 and July 2026, the survey was completed with a ‘Zero Accident’ safety record. The data is intended to support PHE’s New Venture program in the South Java Sea region.
