Peruvian Congress staff Movadef investigation

An investigation has identified at least ten employees within the Peruvian Congress whose names appear on records used by Movadef—described as the political wing of the terrorist organization Sendero Luminoso—during its attempt to register as a political organization with the National Jury of Elections.

The implicated staff members hold various roles, including senior advisors, technicians, and assistants, primarily within the offices of the Juntos por el Perú parliamentary group and certain Senate commissions. Reports indicate these individuals receive monthly salaries between S/11,000 and S/14,000 from public funds. Specific individuals named in the findings include Hilso Claudio Ramos Cosme and Richard Leandro Tipo Quispe, both of whom are reportedly listed in Movadef’s foundational documents.

In response to these findings, members of the Renovación Popular party have met with the Directorate Against Terrorism (Dircote) to request a formal investigation. They have called upon the Congress's Human Resources Office to review the status of these workers to determine if there are active links to terrorist organizations, aiming to prevent the infiltration of such groups into public institutions.
