Peruvian gastronomy fairs

In late July 2026, the third edition of the Peruvian Gastrocultural Fair was held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. Organized by the local Peruvian community and municipal authorities, the free‑entry event showcased classic dishes such as ceviche, causas limeñas and ají de gallina, and featured live music, folk dances and a craft exhibition. Community leaders highlighted its role in promoting Peruvian culture abroad and expressed the aim of making the fair an annual fixture.

A few days later, the 30th national edition of the Peru Mucho Gusto fair took place in Tacna, Peru, drawing a record 215,000 visitors, including 12,000 foreign tourists. With 162 exhibitors representing the country’s 25 regions, the fair emphasized gastronomy’s contribution to tourism and regional development. Awards were given for traditional dishes, innovation and food‑safety practices, underscoring the event’s economic impact on hotels, restaurants and local commerce.

Both fairs illustrate how Peru leverages its culinary heritage to boost cultural visibility and economic activity, whether on the international stage in Spain or domestically in its border city of Tacna.
