Platu 25 Sailing World Championship

Overview

The Platu 25 Sailing World Championship took place in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. During the opening day of the four-day competition, the Australian team Aftershock, led by skipper Mark Griffith, took the lead by winning all three inaugural races. At that stage, the Italian Associazione Velica Senigallia and the Japanese Sailing Team held second and third place, respectively.

The championship concluded on September 19, with the Australian team Aftershock securing the world title after winning seven of the ten completed races. Unpredictable weather conditions impacted the final day, reducing the scheduled twelve races to just one.

While Australia took first place, the Italian team Associazione Velica Senigallia, helmed by Marco Angiolini, earned the silver medal. The Lithuanian team, led by Radvilas Janulonis, finished in third place.
