Plovdiv municipal infrastructure procurement
Overview
The Plovdiv Municipality is re-initiating several infrastructure and modernization projects following previous procurement failures caused by technical errors and documentation inconsistencies.
In the East District, a 2.8 million euro tender has been re-launched for the reconstruction of Arch. Kamen Petkov Street. The project, which includes road surfaces, underground infrastructure, and safety measures near schools, remains at its original budget despite a previous attempt being terminated due to discrepancies in the bill of quantities.
Simultaneously, in the Trakia district, a second attempt has been made to modernize street and park lighting. This 1.275 million euro project aims to install over 2,000 LED units and new poles to replace aging 1980s infrastructure. Unlike the street reconstruction project, this lighting tender features a reduced budget of approximately 414,000 EUR compared to the original estimate.
