Poland citizen budget voting
Overview
In mid‑July 2026 the town of Kobyłka announced that residents could vote on thirteen citizen‑budget projects, ranging from soft‑community initiatives such as child‑development programmes and swimming lessons to hard infrastructure works like a mini‑city for traffic‑safety education and a covered concert shell. Voting was set to begin on 4 August, with options to submit ballots online or in person.
A week later, on 4 August, the Mazovian Voivodeship launched the seventh edition of its regional citizen‑budget, allocating up to 30 million złoty for community projects across the province. Of the 415 proposals submitted, 333 qualified for the vote, which would run online until 7 September. Officials highlighted the record‑high participation of 187 000 votes in the previous year and urged residents to influence local culture, road safety and emergency services through their choices.
