Police corruption investigations in Rajasthan

Overview

The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has conducted multiple operations targeting police-related bribery in the state.

In mid-September, the ACB arrested Rammlan Meena, a station officer at the Sambhar Lake Police Station in Jaipur. Meena was allegedly caught receiving a 50,000 rupee bribe intended to prevent the harassment of employees and vehicles involved in a Public Works Department road construction project.

Later in the month, the ACB arrested a middleman, Sajjan Singh Jain, in Udaipur for allegedly accepting a ₹2 crore bribe on behalf of Mukesh Kumar Soni, an Additional Superintendent of Police. The bribe was reportedly requested in exchange for providing relief to previously arrested individuals and returning documents related to a case involving 272 municipal corporation plots. Soni was detained for questioning following the operation.
