Police operations and arrests in Uttar Pradesh

Police operations in Uttar Pradesh have resulted in several arrests and encounters involving various criminal activities.

In early August, authorities in Gonda district arrested a wanted suspect, Kamaruddin, following an encounter where the suspect allegedly fired at officers. Police recovered a motorcycle and ammunition during the operation.

Later in the month, multiple operations occurred across Ghaziabad and Kasganj. In Ghaziabad, police apprehended a suspect named Sameer following a shootout related to a previous killing, and a separate encounter led to the wounding of a suspected chain snatcher. In Kasganj, an exchange of fire during an interception of beef smugglers resulted in one suspect being wounded and three others being apprehended, with authorities seizing approximately 100 kg of meat and illegal firearms.

Recent operations have expanded the scope of arrests. In Loni, police conducted an encounter resulting in the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of gold and silver jewelry valued at approximately 50 lakh rupees. In Noida, an individual was apprehended for vehicle theft and mobile snatching, with a stolen scooter and phones recovered. Additionally, in Balrampur, a former domestic worker was arrested for allegedly stealing nine lakh rupees from an employer’s bank account using a stolen ATM card.
