Polish higher education tuition fee increases

Overview

Tuition fees for higher education in Poland are projected to increase significantly for the 2026/2027 academic year. Medical and dental programs are expected to face the highest costs.

At Warsaw Medical University, annual medicine fees have reached 68.5 thousand PLN, while dentistry costs 83.6 thousand PLN per year. Jagiellonian University reports annual medicine fees of 68 thousand PLN and dentistry fees of 70 thousand PLN. The University of Wrocław has set annual fees for dentistry at nearly 59 thousand PLN and medicine at 53 thousand PLN.

These increases are attributed to a demographic shift caused by educational reforms implemented over a decade ago, which resulted in a higher number of high school graduates. The Ministry of Health has not yet released official limits for available places in public medical universities for the upcoming year.
