Polish law enforcement and border security interventions
Overview
Polish law enforcement and Border Guard units have conducted various inspections and interventions involving foreign nationals and border security.
In the Warmia-Mazury region, inspections conducted between January and July 2026 regarding the legality of employment for nearly 2,000 foreigners revealed that 571 individuals were working in violation of regulations. Common infractions included working without required permits, performing work differing from legal documentation, and failing to establish formal contracts. The construction industry, employment agencies, and the manufacturing sector saw the highest rates of violations. Citizens of Colombia represented 54 percent of these cases, followed by citizens of India, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan.
In late August, additional interventions were reported across the country. The Nadodrzański Border Guard Unit detained 12 foreigners for violations including illegal stays and criminal activities such as drug possession. These actions resulted in orders for individuals to leave Poland and the deportation of a Ukrainian resident who received a six-year re-entry ban. Other security interventions included fines for illegal camping near the state border in Bieszczady National Park and various passenger misconduct incidents at Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport.
