Polish local civil defense infrastructure development
Overview
Local authorities in Poland are expanding civil defense infrastructure through new construction projects designed for emergency scenarios.
In Zgierz, officials have initiated preparations for a modern S3 category emergency shelter. Following the signing of a notary deed for property at ul. Kolejowa 14, plans are underway for a 6,000 square meter facility. This shelter is intended to provide safety for residents of Zgierz and the surrounding county by including essential water, energy, sewage, and communication systems.
In Busko-Zdrój, a 3.15 million PLN project is underway at the Technical and Informatics School Complex (ZST-I). The development includes a new gymnasium and an underground shelter capable of accommodating approximately 300 people. This facility is designed to meet civil protection requirements and follows the school receiving approval to operate a uniformed division. The project is expected to be completed by December 15, 2026.
