Polish military equipment modernization

Overview

The Polish Armed Forces have commenced the delivery of new specialized military vehicles as part of ongoing modernization efforts.

In late October 2026, the first Kleszcz light armored reconnaissance vehicles, developed by AMZ-Kutno SA, were delivered to the 15th Giżycka Mechanized Brigade to replace Soviet-era BRDM-2 models. This delivery is part of a larger $205 million contract aiming to acquire 286 amphibious 4x4 vehicles by 2035.

Simultaneously, the Armament Agency announced the delivery of the first Kroton-bis command vehicles. Built on the KTO Rosomak chassis by Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa and WB Group, these 12 vehicles are designed to support battalion-level command for units utilizing M1A2SEPv3 Abrams main battle tanks. The vehicles provide secure communication capabilities up to NATO SECRET levels.
