Polish municipal sewage infrastructure modernization
Overview
Local municipalities in Poland are undertaking significant investments to modernize and expand sewage treatment facilities and networks.
In Nowy Targ, the Municipal Water and Sewage Works has contracted ENVI KONSULTING s. c. for investor supervision of a modernization and expansion project valued at nearly 4 million PLN. This initiative is part of a broader 120 million PLN investment, partially supported by 70 million PLN from European Funds via the FEnIKS program, aimed at meeting Polish and EU legal standards. While a Rzeszów-based company has been chosen for the main engineering components, local authorities in Nowy Targ, Szaflary, Biały Dunajec, and Poronin are still negotiating the division of remaining costs.
In Ujazd, the municipality has launched a 37 million PLN environmental project to upgrade its local sewage treatment plant and expand the network. Managed by Newater under a ‘design and build’ contract, the three-year project includes upgrading sludge management, constructing a solar sludge dryer, and implementing odor control measures. The project also involves collaboration with Wodociągi Słupsk and the Gdańsk University of Technology to create a ‘digital twin’ of the plant for operational optimization.
