Polish municipal education and eco‑grant programmes

In late July 2026 Polish schools received several significant grants. On 23 July, Władysław Szafera Primary School in Żarki was awarded a €56,113 Erasmus+ grant for an 18‑month reading‑and‑creativity project inspired by “The Little Prince.” Four days later, Gmina Żychlin obtained a 60 000‑zł grant from the regional environmental fund to build a modern eco‑lab at Primary School No 2, focusing on water‑related geography, physics and ecology.

On the same day, a broader round of Wojewódzki Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej (WFOŚiGW) funding was announced for multiple gminas. The Gmina Starzyna will spend 3.47 million zł on a new municipal kindergarten for 91 children, while Pogorzela will subsidise the “Zaczarowany ogród” nursery for 20 toddlers. Gmina Tczów and Wołomin received funds (30 000 zł and 47 893 zł respectively) for asbestos‑removal projects, improving local health safety. Kraków’s “Ogród z klasą” green‑school initiative will support ten schools with gardening tools and training, though no monetary figure was disclosed.

Together, these allocations illustrate an expanding commitment by national, regional and EU bodies to enhance educational infrastructure, promote ecological learning, and address environmental hazards across Poland’s primary and early‑education institutions.
