Polish regional medical scholarship programs
Overview
Regional authorities in Poland have launched scholarship initiatives to address medical personnel shortages. In the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, the fifth edition of a nursing scholarship program was introduced, offering third year students a monthly stipend of 1,500 PLN for nine months. This program is a collaboration between regional authorities, medical universities, and nursing chambers.
Similarly, the Warmia-Mazury region opened applications for medical student scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year. This program targets students in their fourth through sixth years, providing 2,500 PLN gross per month for nine months. To qualify, students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 4.0 and commit to working in one of 18 recognized deficit specialties, such as psychiatry, geriatrics, or oncology, within the region after their internship.
