Polish warnings on Russian escalation and Ukraine support

Overview

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has issued warnings regarding ongoing Russian escalation and its implications for European security. Regarding recent security incidents, Tusk has confirmed that a fire at the WB Group facility in Skarżysko-Kamienna, a producer of unmanned systems, was a deliberate act of sabotage. The facility supplies parts to both Polish and Ukrainian militaries, with damages now estimated at at least 15 million PLN. Prosecutors are investigating the incident as a potential terrorist crime carried out on behalf of a foreign intelligence service. Tusk also addressed a separate fire at the JFG Composites plant in Lublin, which produces aviation components. While there is currently no direct evidence of sabotage in the Lublin case, Tusk noted that the possibility of arson cannot be ruled out, with damages estimated at approximately 6.9 million euros.

In response to these threats, Tusk has extended national security alarm levels through November 30. The BRAVO and BRAVO-CRP levels, addressing cybersecurity and energy infrastructure threats, remain in effect nationwide, while a third-level CHARLIE alarm has been implemented for railway areas. Tusk continues to attribute these escalations to Russian efforts to destabilize the region.
