Port Macquarie murder investigation
Overview
A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder following an investigation into the death of 31-year-old Megan Tangye in Port Macquarie. Ms. Tangye was found with injuries at a unit on Gore Street on December 27, 2025, and died shortly after at Port Macquarie Hospital.
Detective Inspector Mark Rogers stated that autopsy findings identified the cause of death as blunt-force trauma believed to be the result of an assault. The suspect, identified as the victim’s former partner, also faces charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The investigation was conducted by the Mid North Coast Police District and the NSW State Crime Command Homicide Squad.
