The project is supported by Argentine businessman Eduardo Bastitta Harriet, who has already invested $30 million into infrastructure.

Praxis describes itself as an “internet-native nation” seeking to build “crypto-states” or digital communities that fund physical territories. The movement has reportedly attracted interest from figures in Silicon Valley, including Sam Altman, Peter Thiel, and Marc Andreessen.

Recent updates confirm the first stage will involve the urbanization of approximately 35 hectares, offering an estimated 350,000 square meters of buildability. While Praxis intends to use AI to coordinate services under its own constitutional framework, Brown noted the project will initially operate within the existing Uruguayan legal system. President Yamandú Orsi has emphasized that all investments must comply with national regulations. A first phase of 500 residential and commercial units is expected to inaugurate by late 2027.
