Overview

In July 2026 the Italian Space Agency (ASI) appointed OHB Italia as the prime contractor for the PRISMA Second Generation (PSG) Earth‑observation mission, targeting a 2031 launch with a hyperspectral instrument offering three‑fold better spatial resolution (10 m versus 30 m). In parallel, Thales Alenia Space confirmed a formal agreement with OHB Italia to develop the Prisma‑S satellite, reiterating the launch schedule, resolution improvements, and the partnership’s role in strengthening Europe’s remote‑sensing capability.
