Professional vocational training developments in Chad
Overview
Educational development in Chad has seen recent initiatives focused on professionalizing human resources and specialized training.
In late September 2026, the Institut Supérieur des Sciences, des Technologies et des Métiers (ISTM) conducted a workshop in N’Djaména to validate and harmonize its training programs. The goal was to align curricula in technology, business, and the digital economy with market requirements by balancing theoretical and practical instruction.
Following this, on October 3, 2026, the Higher Institute of Journalism and Communication of Chad (ISJCT) was inaugurated in N’Djaména. Supported by the NGO Media for Development (MEDEV), the institute launched with an initial class of 40 students specializing in journalism-image reporting and corporate communication. The institution aims to provide local professional skills and certificates to strengthen the country’s media and communication sectors.
