Proton S70 model expansion

Overview

Proton expanded its S70 sedan lineup by introducing the S70 Lite and S70 Prime variants. These new models differ from the existing turbocharged versions by utilizing a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated i-GT engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Following the initial announcement and opening of bookings, Proton officially launched the 2026 variants. The company reported significant consumer interest, noting over 10,000 bookings within the first two weeks. In Peninsular Malaysia, the 1.5 Lite is priced at RM59,800 and the 1.5 Prime at RM62,800, while prices in East Malaysia are RM2,000 higher.

Both variants include features such as six airbags, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a reverse camera. Proton is also offering an early bird rebate of RM3,000 for customers who book and register by 31 December 2026.
