PSPV opposition to Valencian Consell policies

Overview

The PSPV political group has issued several criticisms regarding recent decisions made by the Valencian Consell affecting social services and housing in the Valencian Community.

In Alicante, the PSPV criticized the closure of four Family Meeting Points in Torrevieja, San Vicente del Raspeig, Villena, and Vila Joiosa. These locations facilitate contact between minors and families during judicial protection processes. Spokesperson Romina del Rey described the reduction of these services as ‘inhumane,’ stating it weakens the protection network for minors.

Additionally, the PSPV-PSOE denounced a 7% increase in the price per square meter for protected housing, raising costs from 2,400 to 2,568 euros. Spokesperson María José Salvador criticized the lack of transparency and noted this is the second price hike in less than two years, arguing the policy makes affordable housing inaccessible to young people and middle-class families.
