Public health and agricultural initiatives in Yemen and مصر

In Yemen and Egypt, various initiatives have been implemented to bolster public health, food security, and agricultural efficiency.

In Yemen, efforts began with a training course in Aden supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Pandemic Prevention Fund. This program utilized a ‘One Health’ approach to strengthen surveillance and rapid response systems for animal diseases and food safety. Subsequent efforts transitioned toward agricultural extension, with a workshop in Aden focusing on participatory learning and action methodologies to modernize farmer-centered agricultural planning, supported by the World Bank Group and the FAO.

In Egypt, public health preparations included a national vaccination campaign against measles and rubella, with officials reviewing medical readiness in the Sharqia Governorate. Agricultural development also progressed through the Digital Agriculture Center project in Ismailia. This initiative, involving Nile University and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, focuses on using artificial intelligence and smart technology to improve resource and water use efficiency through precision irrigation.
