Public health and welfare initiatives in Mexico and venezuel

Public health and social welfare initiatives have expanded across Mexico and Venezuela, focusing on specialized training, community rehabilitation, and student wellness.

In Mexico, efforts have included reforestation and the rehabilitation of medical units through the Elena Arizmendi Tequio, involving over 770 volunteers to improve workplaces and childcare facilities. Regional programs in Hidalgo provide free psychological and nutritional services for youth aged 12 to 29, while the local Ministry of Health has trained 163 professionals in the detection and prevention of cervical cancer. In Colima, the State Health Secretariat has deployed 27 medical units dedicated to oral disease prevention and health education.

Strategic alliances in Mexico have also launched the ‘Dr. Vagón’ mobile health train, which travels the Ferromex railway network across 24 states and approximately 150 communities to provide dental care, nutrition training, reproductive health education, and laboratory testing. Additionally, Mexico City implemented the ‘SALTA’ strategy to address visual issues, mental health risks, and vaccination gaps among primary school children and staff.

In Venezuela, the Rafael Rangel National Institute of Hygiene (INHRR) conducted specialized training on oncology biomarkers for postgraduate students in Maracay. This program focused on molecular diagnosis and precision medicine for high-impact tumors, such as breast, lung, and colon cancers, to strengthen the national public health system.
