Public health initiatives in Belford Roxo

Overview

The municipality of Belford Roxo has implemented new public health initiatives aimed at improving wellness and medical access.

Inaugurated by Mayor Mariana Canella, the Centro de Qualidade de Vida (CQV) has opened in the Andrade Araújo neighborhood. This complex provides integrated health services, including a Policlínica de Saúde Corporal, a municipal public gym, and a multi-sport gymnasium. A central component of the facility is a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment and control of obesity through medical supervision and physical activity.

Additionally, the municipality launched the ‘Mutirão Sua Vez’ program to address medical examination waiting lists. This initiative uses a centralized service center to contact residents via telephone and WhatsApp to schedule appointments for various procedures, such as endoscopy, cataract surgery, mammography, and ultrasonography. To increase capacity, the program includes weekend scheduling.
