Public safety and traffic education in Selçuklu

Overview

In Konya, Selçuklu Municipality has initiated several public safety and education programs. The municipality signed a security protocol with the Konya Provincial Gendarmerie Command to implement the Gendarmerie City Security Management System (J/KGYS) across 30 rural neighborhoods. This project involves installing camera systems and fiber optic infrastructure, with a target completion date of December 31, 2027.

Parallel to these security measures, the municipality is conducting traffic safety education. Through the Selçuklu Traffic Training Park and the ‘Courtesy Bus’ initiative, local authorities are providing traffic awareness and social etiquette training to primary school students. These programs involve collaboration between the Selçuklu Municipality, the Konya Provincial Police Department, and local education directorates to instill traffic consciousness in children through both theoretical and practical instruction.
